Translated title:
The posthumanist subject in the digital era
Summary:
This paper aims, through a multifactorial and interdisciplinary lens, to document the way in which the neoliberal Discource of transhumanism attempts to become the new hegemonic collective imaginary of humanity. Through the study of the term and its ideological counterweight, posthumanism, we will examine the way in which the economic dominance of the so-called big tech companies, leads to the reproduction by their CEOs, on an ideological level, of the above technofuturistic Discource, with the sole purpose of redirecting the desiring flows of the subjects in service of digitized capitalism. At the same time, we will examine under a constructionist and a phenomenological prism, how the architectural construction of the privatized internet serves the above aim. However, with the help of Deleuzoguattarian philosophy, cultural studies and critical postmedia studies, we will conclude that this externally closed system of control is not able to contain the expression of multiplicities, which, combined with new developments on the “free” side of the internet, make it possible to collectively claim a posthumanist project for the course of humanity, disentangled from capitalist and patriarchal residues.
