Translated title:
The impact of perineotomy on female sexual dysfunction
Summary:
Episiotomy is the most frequently performed surgical procedure during labor. There is extensive literature on episiotomy techniques and complications, but its effect on female sexual dysfunction is unexplored. Postpartum sexual health is a common concern that is often not discussed during prenatal or postpartum care and has received minor attention by both the clinicians and the researchers. This review summarizes the existing evidence on the impact of episiotomy on female sexual dysfunction, published between 2003 and 2023.
