Summary:
ABSTRACT
This master’s thesis seeks to conduct a comparative analysis of success indicators in project management in Waterfall and Agile development environments. The primary objective is to identify differences and commonalities in the use of success indicators based on methodology, aiming to potentially highlight the superior methodology in project management,
Methodology:
To achieve research goals, a multi-stage method was employed. Initially, based on the case study of Pawel Weichbroth, a questionnaire was developed and distributed to industry professionals, gathering diverse perspectives. Accompanied by a comprehensive literature review, including significant case studies published in reputable scientific journals, a rich and diversified data source was achieved.
The diversity of this methodology, from questionnaire design to statistical analysis, ensured not only a comprehensive understanding of the current situation but also the utilization of results for the future research in project management.
Steps:
- Research Design: Creation of a questionnaire based on a published case study from a reputable scientific publication from abroad, along with a presentation of literature covering both methodologies, ensuring information on the success indicators under research.
- Data Collection: 102 industry professionals participated in the questionnaire, providing valuable practical experiences.
- Data Analysis: Statistical analysis of responses was conducted and presented with corresponding graphics to provide comprehensive information within the theoretical frameworks provided by the literature review.
Results:
The research uncovered significant differences in the use of success indicators depending on the methodology. Along the way, the idea of adopting success indicators to the characteristics and specificities of each project was strengthened through the identification of common indicators.
