The treatment of animals in Christianity in comparison with Buddhism
Summary:
In this thesis the concepts prevailing in the most widespread religions regarding the position of animals in the world and the treatment they receive by humans will be developed. Through specific examples from the sacred texts of Christianity and Buddhism, interpretative approaches will be made regarding the role attributed to animals by the different religious doctrines. At the same time, the different approaches towards animals, as they appear in modern bibliography , will be developed, in order to understand the context and perception of these religions in these matters. Finally, the different religious theories will be combined in order to outline the common points and the most important differences between the religions under investigation.
