Η συμβολή της ηγεσίας στη διαχείριση κρίσεων. Μελέτη περίπτωσης: οι πυρκαγιές του Έβρου 2023

The contribution of leadership in crisis management. Case study: Fires in the Evros region 2023
Summary:
Based on the fact that nowadays the dangers (natural and anthropogenic) are increasingly and dangerously appearing more in Greece, the human species is also dangerously exposed to them and so it is very significant to emphasize on the importance of keeping people safe. This will be achieved through the help of a targeted and multilaterally organized action plan, which will be applied to a potential crisis (emergency-disaster). The leadership and especially the leader play the most fundamental part in this crisis management. The leader must have a sense of responsibility and empathy and is immediately called upon to decide which strategies will be implemented, which measures will be chosen and generally which tactic will be followed, in order for the crisis to be dealt with on time and with as little damages and repercussions as possible. The leader is always in the first line and is a person who is in charge of everything, before, during or after a crisis, taking care of the prevention, handling and response after the crisis. An emergency like this were the recent fires in South Evros in August of 2023, focusing on the fire in Dadia forest, which was raging for 14 full days and which caused an immeasurable damage to the forest area, the ecosystem and the people.
