Cryoablation of renal tumors
Summary:
In recent years the CRYOABLATION method for the treatment of small kidney tumors has gained wider acceptance and is used more frequently.
Clinical studies to date show that the method is safe, with acceptable results after both short-term and long-term follow-up, while it appears to offer some advantages over RFA.
It was also developed earlier than RFA as a technique used in open or laparoscopic surgeries.
With the introduction of thin cryocatheters, percutaneous access became possible for the destruction of small kidney tumors
