Summary:
With animal rights on the international activist agenda, there is a need for a more systematic theory of animal rights. On the other hand, the legal foundation of the treatment of animals arises from the philosophical and theoretical approach to their existence and condition, with religious and also philosophical viewpoints succeeding each other and adding and removing arguments in the endless dialogue about creatures of them, their categorization, the determination of their position and mode of operation, the rights they enjoy or at least are recognized. In this paper, a literature review of the legal, research and ethical perspective on the treatment of animals will be carried out, presenting key aspects of their participation in human existence, whether as companion animals, or as beings with instrumental value, or as important catalysts in the promotion of scientific research.
