The degree of preparedness of primary and secondary education principals regarding the organization of distance learning in crisis situations
Summary:
The purpose of this study was to firstly investigate the degree of preparedness of primary and secondary school principals in managing school units in future distance education, based on their experiences when they were asked to cope and adapt within the unprecedented circumstances of the covid-19 pandemic. The research followed a quantitative methodology. 105 managers participated in the survey. The findings of the study indicate that principals' readiness for distance education post COVID-19 is influenced by their technological competence, leadership skills, training, supportive school culture, and resource allocation. By addressing these factors, schools can strengthen the readiness of principals and effectively address the challenges of distance learning. As the educational landscape continues to evolve, ongoing research and collaboration are essential to develop effective strategies for principal readiness in distance learning.
