Summary:
This study aims to explore the vulnerability of male Central African refugees and the help they received in Greece, using a thorough methodology through a two-part approach that combines a theoretical scientific investigation of the issue of immigrant coming from Central Africa, especially from the countries of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and the Equatorial Guinea and a qualitative analysis. We used a semi-structured questionnaire to interview the five participants of the study aiming to highlight the proactive efforts of refugees to reestablish a sense of identity and community in a foreign setting, shedding insight on the varied character of resilience beyond simple survival. Our research reveals adaptive tactics like learning new languages and negotiating the complexities of Greek social and legal institutions, showing resilience as a proactive, dynamic response to difficult situations. With the objective of improving our understanding of resilience among displaced populations in new cultural and social contexts, the study offers helpful perspectives on the processes of adapting and overcoming adversity by providing insights into these people's journeys and the efficacy of support systems in Greece. Through this research, we discovered that new avenues for comprehending perseverance in the face of hardship may open.
