Summary:
Philosophy and Cinema are two scopes prima facie very different but in many cases the researchers can detect numerous ways of interaction and communication between those two fields of interest. The visual representations that are presented on the cinematic screen can communicate various messages, philosophical included. Greek director Yorgos Lanthimos carries out an international artistic career and has imposed his unique cinematic style. In this essay I examine a part of his filmography trying to detect and analyze a series of elements that are connected to the representations of non human animals in cinema and are able –if examined in accordance with the philosophical methodology- to enrich the current corpus of works related to Animal Ethics.
