Pituitary insufficiency of the adenopituitary gland. In which pathological conditions do the patient to the emergency department
Summary:
Introduction: The pituitary insufficiency of the adenopophyse concerns the anterior part of the pituitary gland and due to a lack of one or more hormones. There are two main factors that regulate and affect pituitary function and these are the reciprocating setting and the cyrcadian rhythms. The most important causes of acute patient dysregulation are stressful conditions and infections therefore these factors become a precursor to adrenal crisis and thus lead the patient to the emergency department.
Aim: The study of the main pathological conditions that lead the patient to the emergency department.
Methods: A literature review was conducted which included the search for review articles in the electronic databases Pub Med as well as manual selection of books referring to adenopophyseal insufficiency and the pathological conditions that lead the patient to the emergency department and published from 2011 to 2021.
Results: of the studies showed that patients who were infected with coronovirus with adrenal insufficiency and benign pituitary lesions without hormonal changes despite their education and treatment, they did not require hospitalization in an emergency department, nor did they have an upcoming adrenal crisis. Additional other results of another study showed that adrenal insufficiency is not related to effect on mortality in this study in severely affected patients requiring rapid intubation prior to treatment in the intensive care unit.
Conclusions: Our studies have shown that patient education contributes significantly to their compliance with therapeutic guidelines where it improves disease control and potentially reduces acute events leading to the emergency department.
