Summary:
The evolutionary path of each country is important from year to year. Comparing previous years with today, the safeguarding and improvement of institutions and provision of services to citizens has undoubtedly marked a significant development.
The establishment of the National Transparency Authority as an Independent Authority, in Greece where there have been several incidents of corruption and lack of meritocracy, is the body responsible for fighting corruption and ensuring meritocracy.
Its operation begins in the year 2019 by implementing an innovative model and enhanced audit powers. The jurisdiction of the above-mentioned Independent Authority included responsibilities from six (6) different audit bodies, such as the General Inspector of Public Administration, the Body of Public Administration Inspectors-Auditors, the Body of Health and Welfare Services Inspectors, the Body of Transport Inspectors-Auditors, the Corps of Public Works Inspectors and the General Secretariat for Combating Corruption.
Therefore, the subject of this work is the importance of the work and action of the E.A.D., but also its purpose. Its writing is based on modern and scientific bibliography, having as its object of study the Independent Authority.
The purpose of this paper is the documented analysis and presentation of the recognition of the E.A.D. After all, the issue of transparency and meritocracy are burning issues that need special study and research.
