Sexual and Reproductive ηealth of patients with Spinal Cord injuries - Orientation to female fertility and pregnancy
Summary:
The sexual and reproductive health of female patients with spinal cord injury (SCI) is the focus of this investigative research. Specifically, the purpose of this study is to explore whether women who have experienced SCI can or cannot conceive. To conduct this research, relevant studies published between 2002 and 2022 were examined using PubMed and Scopus databases. Emphasis was placed on the results of clinical trials and observations involving humans, with particular attention to sexual and reproductive health of women with SCI. Studies conducted on animals, published in languages other than English, focusing solely on men, and addressing neurological disorders other than SCI were deemed ineligible for this study. Patients with spinal cord injuries may face additional challenges in the area of sexual and reproductive health, particularly women of reproductive age who desire pregnancy. This study aims to clarify whether this is feasible or not through clinical studies conducted over the past two decades.
