Systematic review of clinical trials of glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) analogues: comparison of semaglutide, liraglutide and tirzepatide in the management of diabetes and cardiovascular system
Summary:
This review of clinical trials compared the effects of semaglutide, liraglutide and tirzepatide, which belong to the GLP-1 analogue class, in the management of diabetes, which is a critical health issue as the disease affects millions of people worldwide. The main research questions include comparing the effects of these drugs in terms of reducing HbA1c levels, weight control, and their effects on the cardiovascular system. To achieve the objective, a systematic review of the literature was conducted where clinical studies conducted on these drugs were evaluated. Through a comprehensive literature review and systematic analysis of scientific papers, we aim to evaluate the efficacy, safety, and clinical relevance of these drugs for patients with diabetes. The study methodology describes how clinical trials were selected, evaluated, and analyzed, with an emphasis on inclusion and exclusion criteria. The findings highlight that semaglutide, liraglutide, and tirzepatide have different effects on HbA1c levels, body weight, and cardiovascular outcomes. The study analyses provide important information for optimizing diabetes treatment and promoting patient health, offering valuable guidance for managing the disease, enhancing medical practice, and promoting patient health. The comparison of the three drugs opens new horizons in medical research and clinical practice, providing valuable information for the selection of the appropriate therapeutic approach in the field of diabetology.
