Ideology and characters in the works of Andreas Frangias "People and Houses" and "The Courtyard"
Summary:
In this study, an initial attempt is made to analyze the characters in Andreas Frangias' novels "People and Houses" and "The Courtyard". Using corresponding theoretical approaches as a framework, this analysis reveals the ideological representations depicted in these works. Specifically, by examining the narrative action and development on a semantic level, a socio-semiotic reading of the texts emerges. The structure of the study's chapters begins with a reference to the theories employed as methodological tools, followed by their application to each work individually. Through observing the series of stories by Andreas Frangias, featuring pairs of protagonists, and studying the models of action, the study concludes that the author is less interested in individual cases and more in collective characters facing similar conditions or situations.
