Εκτεταμένη καλλιέργεια εμβρύων: Πού βρισκόμαστε και ποιο είναι το επόμενο βήμα
Translated title:
Extended embryo culture: where are we now and where to next
Summary:
The initial phases of human embryonic development before implantation have been extensively researched to enhance reproductive outcomes. However, the developmental stages following implantation remain relatively unexplored. Recent advancements in vitro have facilitated the culture of embryos up to 14 days, the current legal limit. Some laboratories have already reported positive results with embryo cultures up to day 7. At a research level, there is a growing need to extend embryo culture beyond 14 days, as many scientists believe valuable insights will emerge regarding the post-implantation period. Consequently, the 14-day limit established by the Warnock Report in 1984 needs reconsideration, raising various scientific, legal, and ethical issues that must be examined.
