Lullabies in Greek folk poetry in the light of attachment theory
Summary:
The aim of this master thesis is to analyze and interpret the greek folk lullabies in the light of attachment theory, a developmental theory with broad appeal, which was formulated in the field of Psychology by the psychiatrist-psychoanalyst John Bowlby. The basic premise of the work is that lullabies, with their content and form, promote secure mother-infant attachment, laying the foundations for the child's healthy development. Therefore, both their deeper scientific approach and their utilization by parents and educators to promote children's development are deemed necessary. The originality of the present study lies in the fact that it is one of the few studies that approach greek folk lullabies from the point of view of an influential developmental psychological theory.
