Summary:
The present thesis is a comparative overview of marriage and civil partnership. The first part analyses the concepts of family, marriage and civil partnership on the one hand and their constitutional foundation on the other. The second part presents the main similarities between marriage and civil partnership, while the third part presents the main points of difference between them. Finally, in the fourth part, a comparative analysis of the Greek civil partnership with those of Denmark, France, the United Kingdom, Belgium and Germany is conducted.
