Summary:
This qualitative research examines the experiences of six conductors/facilitators of musical activities in Athens and Thessaloniki who have at least one year of experience leading/training a musical ensemble with members aged 60/65+. The respondents were asked about their training, the methods and tools they used in their teaching, their goals, the challenges and difficulties they faced, and potential ways to address them. Additionally, they shared observations regarding the possible cognitive and psychosocial development of their group members. Thematic analysis of the semi-structured interviews with the conductors/facilitators of musical activities sheds light on these issues.
