Summary:

This study aims to systematize and comparatively review the decisions issued by the Hellenic National Council for Radio and Television (NCRTV). The primary focus of this work was the examination of NCRTV decisions, as published in both the Decisions Archive on its official website for older decisions and on the “Diavgeia” platform for those decisions required to be published online following the implementation of Law 3861/2010. Additionally, the study involved an analysis of the extensive scientific commentary on specific decisions.

Using these theoretical and practical tools, an attempt was made to systematize the NCRTV's decisions into the following main themes: the objective and equitable broadcasting of news and events, which includes ensuring political pluralism, accurate reporting of events, and balanced, objective information dissemination; the safeguarding of program quality, which involves tasteful and proper language use, the protection of human dignity, and respect for honor, reputation, and personal integrity; the protection of childhood and youth; satirical programs; and the NCRTV's stance on issues of discrimination.
