Incitement to commit crimes, acts of violence or discord (article 184 par. 1 of the Criminal Code) using social media as a modern aspect of cyber-terrorism at the national, EU and international level

The present diplomatic work aims to present but mainly to raise concerns regarding the conduct of acts of a terrorist nature with the use of the Internet and in particular with the mobilization of Social Media (hereinafter M.K.D.). Initially, this work proceeds with an analysis of the definition of incitement to commit crimes, as described in the 184th article of the Greek criminal code, while at the same time it does not fail to focus on the use of these modern media as a tool to promote criminal activities. At the same time, the concept of cyber-terrorism and the challenges it brings to the existing legal structures are analyzed. In addition, the second chapter in a row talks about the characteristics and possibilities of M.K.D. In addition, cases of incitement to crimes with the use of N.C.D are listed. Through the presentation of specific cases and jurisprudence, the paper proposes improvements in the legislation, with the aim of strengthening the protection against these threats. Special reference is made to the cooperation of state and international agencies to effectively deal with the phenomenon. Finally, the research examines the technological developments and ethical dilemmas arising from the use of social media in inciting violent actions, providing suggestions for future research and policy. In conclusion, some concluding and critical thoughts that were generated during the creation of the present work are formulated.
