The continuous movement of populations in the modern world has created a reality in which the need for understanding and respecting diversity is paramount, as well as the need for harmonious coexistence among different cultural groups. Furthermore, there has emerged a necessity to reassess the role of education in contemporary schools, as educators play a crucial role in ensuring democracy.This thesis aims to examine the intercultural competence of secondary education teachers. The significance of the present research lies in the fact that teachers play a key role in shaping this new reality. The study explores the current knowledge of teachers on intercultural education and their preparedness to teach students from other countries. It also investigates the teaching methods they use during the learning process of foreign students.This work will provide a comprehensive overview of the intercultural competence of educators in secondary education and highlight important aspects for improving teaching practices and developing effective strategies for integrating foreign students into the educational process. Overall, the research focuses on questions related to the effectiveness of the teaching methods employed in schools for educating foreign students. Furthermore, it will explore the extent to which the age and gender of teachers influence their approach.
