Exposure of the respiratory system of workers in bakeries to particulate matters
Summary:
Aim
The aim is the study of respiratory exposure of workers in bakeries to
particulate matters, mainly of flour used in the production of bread,
concerning the respiratory symptoms on their work. Still, the concentration
levels of particulate matters on the premises of the preparation room on
bakeries.
Target
The target is to study respiratory problems encountered by workers in bakeries,
from their daily exposure to particulate matters, well as be measured
concentration levels of particulate matters in the place at working.
Material and method
This work is exploratory and studies the effect of the environment on health.
Was conducted with interrogatory, with the participation of 38 employees, who
work in bakeries. During the research were recorded measurements for the level
of presence of particulate matters sized ΡΜ10, ΡΜ2.5 and ΡΜ1, in 7 bakeries.
Results
After analyzing the data using Microsoft Excel, to create diagrams and SPSS for
statistical analysis and correlation, found that between the two genders same
frequencies shown symptoms, regarding age and onset of symptoms, relation to
age, and the appearance of symptoms, there are some differences in terms of age
and appearance rhinitis and compared between years of work and symptoms show
that some of the symptoms seem more likely to occur in workers with a few years
of work in this workplace. Still, in relation to each type of work and
incidence of dyspnea suggest that there is a relationship when working and the
correlation among symptoms and smoking, the smoking can have a greater chance
to experience a cough and / or dyspnea than non-smokers. Regarding the
measurement of particulate matter were not detected exceedances of limit values
