Summary:
The present aims to natural hazard management at prefectural scale;
particularly in prefecture of Fthiotis at Central Greece. It involves the
research for flood hazard, coastal hazards with special focus in landslide
hazard assessment. The
first two hazard types are assessed qualitatively, while the landslides are
quantitatively been assessed, using a statistical multivariate approach for
landslide
susceptibility zonation. This research is an initial approach to geomorphologic
hazards
assessment, clarifying the types of hazards, their effects, causal factors and
their
spatial distribution, in peripheral scale. The result indicates hazardous areas
for
habitation, problems of man-made structures, and contributes to urban and
spatial
planning policies.
