Error Estimates for the Solution of Linear Systems
Summary:
This dissertation refers to error estimation methods, which occur
during the numerical solution of linear systems. The dissertation is structured
thus: The first part contains all the mathematic tools which form the necessary
theoretical basis in order to comprehend the methods which follow. Special and
detailed mention is made regarding the method for Singular Value Decomposition
(SVD), upon which the entire methodology is based. In the second part, the same
methodology formulated by mathematician C. Brezinski is developed. It is
presented fully structured and is demonstrated in detail. Finally, the results
obtained through the application of these methods on specific linear system
examples, are presented.
