Summary:
The present thesis started as an idea after isolation of certain metabolites of
the plant Acronychiapedunculatathat was reached to our lab. Acrovestone and
demethylacrovestone have been isolated in the past but also some new products
have been isolated for first time. However, nobody until now tried their
synthesis. The synthesis of these products is the beginning of a larger study
which we will continue in the future. Our main purpose was to find a simple way
to synthesize the basic structure of these important products category.
Furthermore, it has been found after studies that the natural products featured
interesting pharmacological activities and especially cytotoxic action in
certain human cancer cell lines (cancer cells of prostate and melanoma).
Therefore, the synthesis of natural products but also of new products to
improve the cytotoxic action in these cell lines was considered important. In
the future, we will try the synthesis of more natural products and new
products, but also the test of their action to other biological targets.
