Summary:
The aim of the present post graduate diplomatic study is the design and the
selection of areas of retreat in a municipality after the presence of a seismic
phenomenon and particularly in the municipality of Tripolis.
In the first chapter of the study we have the analysis of the land planning and
the residential area framework, the administrative structure, the climate, the
infrastructure and the cultural wealth of the municipality of Tripolis.
Following is the second chapter with the description of the subordinate
geomorphological structure. Then we have the analysis of the geological
structure where we have the participation of two outer greek geotectonic zones
(Gavrovou – Tripolis and Olonou – Pindou). Following we have the description of
the cracks of the area, also we have the analysis of the seismicity of the area
under study.
The Greek Legislative frame of the Civil Protection and the management of
states of emergency, which is analyzed in the third chapter, we have a report
on the jurisdiction of those handling the crises and implementing the plan of
Civil Protection of the municipality in activity, office and management. This
plan will be implemented, during the stage of immediate intervention.
Afterwards, we have the analysis of the selection criteria of the retreat
areas, their uses, their accessability as well as inspection of their
sufficiency.
Finally, in the fifth chapter, we have proposals of the retreat areas by
municipal and local community in the municipality of Tripolis which can be
implemented in case of the appearance of a seismic phenomenon.
