Summary:
The purpose of this thesis is the upgrade of the website feedit.di.uoa.gr which
is the system for managing tasks and tuition fees of postgraduate and phd
students of the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications, University of
Athens.
The website feedit.di.uoa.gr had several deficiencies as well as some points
that required improvement. Therefore, the supervisors of this thesis helped to
define the improvements - changes that needed to be done and the
functionalities which should be added. Moreover, a user manual of the website
was created in order to facilitate user navigation.
The changes that were implemented provided more possibilities to the faculty
members so that they can manage their tasks, select students for them and edit
the task and application values.
Drupal has been used for the improvement and the implementation of all the
above. Drupal is an open content management system. It is based on the PHP
programming language and uses the open source database MySQL.
