The paper focuses in concept mapping as a tool for teaching. It is specifically
used for teaching concepts according to the computer science schoolbook that is
taught in the first grade of the greek high school. Working sheets and concept
maps have been created for the chapters “Hardware - Software” and “Computer
networks” of the schoolbook. The process involves the use of a software for
creating concept maps, CMap Tools, and the reading and understanding of the
specific chapters of the schoolbook leading into the extraction of main
concepts. Proper links between those concepts result in the creation of concept
maps and working sheets that empowers the teaching of the subject.
