Summary:
The Axiological Model is a therapeutic tool that is directly related to the Cognitive Psychotherapy according to Aaron Beck’s model on which it is based.
In this research paper the DPQ and GHQ questionnaires were given to both, the experimental group consisted of 51 patients with tinnitus as well as the control group consisted of 46 healthy subjects, students of the Postgraduate Program of Mental Health Promotion. Patients with tinnitus were found from the Outpatient Clinic of the ENT Department of the "Konstantopoulio" General Hospital of Nea Ionia, in Athens-Greece.
The responses given at the DPQ and GHQ questionnaires from both experimental and control groups were compared and found to have statistically significant differences in the DPQ parameters: “self”, “world”, “future”, “sociotropy” and “autonomy”, and the GHQ parameters: “somatic complaints”, “anxiety and insomnia”, “social dysfunction” and “major depression”.
