Drama education as a framework of learning in Ancient Greek literature
Summary:
The design and application of drama activities on the teaching of literary subjects can transform the educational process into an experience of interaction and collaboration for teachers and students. At the same time it can create favorable terms for the comprehension and interpretation of the value content of texts and ensure the conditions for the reevaluation of personal attitudes and values of students, in an ambience of safety, acceptance and creativity. In the context of the present research, we study the contribution of drama techniques to the formulation of a positive pedagogical climate, to a more adequate understanding of Homer’s and Herodotus’ values and their supporting role in the creative meeting of the world of students with the world of texts.
