Factors of teaching able to lead to the transformation of students’ literary habits
Summary:
The purpose of this dissertation is to outline the factors of teaching that can lead to the transformation of students’ literary habits. The primary research goal was focused on the study of two cases - classes of High School (First Class of Lyceum), in a school at the center of Athens. The main sources of collecting the data were the written and oral speech of the students, which were produced upon answering the open - type questionnaires and the focus groups, along with the observation of the teachers. The results of this research highlighted the importance of the text, as an active (εν ενεργεία) and autonomous factor that engages students in the procedure of reforming their literary habits. The discussion in class, along with the instructor, also seem to play an important role in giving the potential (εν δυνάμει) for transforming the habits and views of the students, both in Literature and in their own lives in general.
