Summary:
In the first chapter, detailed information on the Human Resources sector is recorded. More specifically, the objectives of the HR sector, the practices implemented, as well as possible to occur errors, are presented. Major milestones are referenced for Human Resource Management Science (theories and schools), as well as topics regarding staffing, remuneration and methods adopted for Human Resource Education and Training.

In the second chapter, definitions are given for the knowledge concept, the different types of knowledge and the interaction between them. The hierarchical structure of knowledge is presented along with the management of knowledge within the frame of an "intelligent" organization. The definition of learning as well as learning organizations, are also highlighted within this chapter. Finally, the five (5) principles of Peter Senge are presented.

The third chapter provides an explanation for the concept and the characteristics of change management in the context of a modern management approach. The role and importance of management, leading to an effective change management objective in business, as well as change management models, are included in the current chapter. Finally the main factors influencing the success of the change management objective, the benefits attributed to successful change management and the way change management is implemented in Greek companies, are stated in this chapter.

The fourth and last chapter is focused on the case study of Attica Bank which is part of the Greek banking system. General information and data (bank’s history, group companies e.tc) are presented along with data and arguments documenting the SWOT analysis, carried out by the bank.
