Summary:

Community music activities support active music-making and are inclusive for everyone. This study analyses Orff-Schulwerk approach as community music in the context of a workshop in a cooperative cafe in Athens. It is based on ethnographic fieldwork and it approaches workshop as a cultural performance. By using techniques such as participant observation, semi-structured interviews and unstructured conversations this study is discussing the similarities between Orff-Schulwerk and community music in principles, purposes and practices.
