Cultivating life skills and empathy in working groups in preschool education.
Summary:
In this diploma thesis, which took place within the framework of the Reformed Postgraduate Study Program "Educational Technology and Human Resource Development", we dealt with the cultivation of Life Skills and empathy through collaborative teaching in pre-school education. In particular, in the first chapters of the thesis, all Living Skills (Communication and Interpersonal Relationship Skills, Self-Assessment and Empathy, Emotional Intelligence - Managing Emotions, Creative and Critical Thinking, Stress Management, Decision Making and Problem Solving) were analyzed and supported theoretically. In addition, C. Roggers's person-centered theory comes to indicate the role and influence of the teacher in the behavior of children. We then proceeded to analyze the empathy and the importance of emotional education for pre-school children in personal and social terms. Additionally, having emphasized the kinds and ways of learning children, we emphasized the importance of collaborative learning as it helped the members of a group feel the acceptance, love and security. Finally, having shown techniques that introduce all of these social skills, we have proposed some emotional activities that help to implement them in an experiential way, concluding that emotional education and the cultivation of social skills essentially prepares children to be receptive to concepts such as diversity, mutual respect, understanding towards the fellow man and lead to self-realization.
