Summary:
Information technology and telecommunications have transformed and evolve health care worldwide. One of the main reasons for this change is the Electronic Health Record (EHR). It is a fact that a doctor wants to know his/hers patient's health history at all times so that he/she can make the best decisions possible.
The purpose of this postgraduate thesis is to create user-friendly health history application for SmartPhones in order to help a parent. With this application, the parent will have the data which in the past were manual written in a Child Health Booklet, with him/her any time. The parent will have a complete history record and will be able to monitor the child's vaccination course, manage and plan visits for vaccinations, check the evolved curves, information about food kai drug allergies, blood type, Emergency telephones, Social Security Number, Hospital Registry Number etc.
The thesis starts with an introduction to the Medical Record and the Children's Health Book in telemedicine and m-health. Then, we continue with mobile devices, the Android operating system and Applications Development tools for them. Research on similar applications and the study of their potential and weaknesses follows next. Then the description of the implementation of the application begins focusing on the design and architecture. The application is presented with illustrations and explanations for its functions. Finally, evolved conclusions and future improvements are discussed.
