Teaching Foreign Languages in a Waldorf School
Summary:
The starting point of the present master thesis is the observation of the educational reality of the last decades and particularly of the pedagogy inspired by the philosopher Rudolf Steiner. The remarkable global increase in schools of this pedagogy has been the reason of our focusing on the teaching of foreign languages, by the means of tracing teachers’ representations and analysing the reality of the lessons observed in schools in France, Georgia, Germany and Greece. In the first part of this work, the theoretical principles that stem from the educational philosophy of the instigator of the pedagogy are highlighted. The second part presents all the modalities of our research as well as its results. The third part is devoted to findings and their interpretation.
