Parental Bonding Styles, Resilience and Career Adaptability in Students with and without S.L.D
Summary:
The present dissertation is a critical bibliographical review of the relationship between career adaptability, parental bonding styles and resilience. In order to investigate the influence of the above factors on career adaptability, a research was carried out with high school students with and without Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD). Surveys of Career Adaptability, Parental Bonding for both parents and Resilience were given to a sample of 50 students with SLD kai 50 students with typical development. The results confirmed most of the research hypotheses. The analysis indicated that resilience fully mediates the relationship between maternal care and career adaptability in students with SLD. In students with typical development, resilience fully mediates the relationship between maternal and paternal authoritarianism and career adaptability, as well as the relationship between paternal care and career adaptability. The paternal protectiveness directly predicts career adaptability. The results can be applied in the education and career orientation of adolescents with and without SLD, as well as parent counseling.
