Michael Choniates' and Euthymios Malakes' Monodies for Eustathios of Thessaloniki: Translation in modern Greek, Commentary and Comparison
Summary:
My master is separated into three parts. The first includes the basic biographical information about Eustathios of Thessaloniki, Michael Choniates and Euthymios Malakes. The second is composed of the translation of the two speeches dedicated to Eustathios and their commentary. In the third part, i try to make a comparison between the texts based on their rhetorical background. Do they follow the rhetorical rules of their kind? Do they differentiate? And if they do, how do they manage it? These are some reasonable questions in which i try to find possible answers.
