Summary:
In this thesis we will study Hardy and Rellich inequalities for Baouendi-Grushin vector fields. Initially we will see the classical Hardy inequality in space R^n and then we will give some definitions and propositions for the γ-gradient and for the Baouendi-Grushin operator. In Chapter 4 we will formulate and prove the Hardy inequality in Baouendi-Grushin vector fields. We show that the resulting constant is also optimal. In Chapter 5 will deal with the Rellich inequalities where we will get some results for the operator Δ for Baouendi-Grushin vector fields.
