Summary:
The outspread of Internet has undoubtedly affected the exercise of the fundamental rights. New challenges and perspectives arise when exercising freedom of expression online. The decentralized architecture of the Internet was a contributing factor to the emergence of fake news, namely the spreading of false facts that could distort our views on reality.
In the context of this Master Thesis, we try to underline the main features of fake news problematic in conjunction with freedom of expression, while proposing the appropriate legal response on the matter.
