Summary:
In the present paper we examine the relationship between law and opera. In the context of interdisciplinary research, opera and law interaction constitutes a recent research field. This study is structured around the following sequence of topics: i) law and opera in the context of interdisciplinarity, ii) regulation of opera (both as an institution and a musical genre), iii) the representation of legal topics in opera (highlighting issues of private law and private international law) and iv) the common aspects and the analogies between law and opera.
