Summary:
Modern trends in school psychology have focused their interest on studying the positive school climate that promotes psychosocial adaptation and resilience of students. The aim of this research was to investigate the students's perceptions in high school regarding their school climate and their resilience in relation to certain demographic factors. The sample consisted of 275 adolescent students of the 1st and 2nd grades of the high schools of Attica. Questionnaires investigating both their perceptions of interpersonal, educational and organisational dimensions of school climate, and of the level of their resilience. The results revealed significant findings about a relationship between school climate and resilience, and about the relationship of various demographic factors to students' perceptions of school climate and resilience. Finally, this research's findings are opened for discussion, aiming the developement and implementation of prevention and intervention programs that promote a positive school climate and enhance students's resilience.
