Summary:
This paper examines the contribution of field experience in teachers’ learning and their instructional practices in the setting of professional development on Mathematics in the classroom. It was found through the analytical study of three future-teachers cases that the existing organization of field experience prevents their learning. In order to contribute to an investigation of the effectiveness of field experience, suggestions are presented for the revision of its organization, with the aim of utilizing as many learning opportunities as possible.
