Summary:
The present work refers to the study of two cases of educational mathematics at the Gymnasium. Initially, the study focuses on teaching decisions taken by teachers in two phases, in planning and in class. An attempt is then made to identify the factors that shape these decisions. The research data refer to transcripts of 10 hours of teaching, 5 to each teacher, to 1st grade, as well as to interviews with teachers before and after the teachings. With regard to these teaching decisions, it appears to be cognitive, management and emotional content. The factors that make up the above categories range from cognitive, institutional, personal and other factors that predominantly dominate the teachers' knowledge and beliefs as well as the available teaching time. Finally, it seems that decision-making during planning is becoming more conscious, while in the classroom it is most often unconscious, as the teachers face familiar situations and make decisions in a very short space of time.
