THE FOKAS METHOD FOR SOLVING LINEAR PARTIAL DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS
Summary:
In the present master thesis we study and solve via the Fokas Method (Unified Transform) a series of initial and boundary value problems for certain linear evolution partial differential equations of various types (Dirichlet, Robin etc.) on the half-line and on the quadrant (in one and two spatial dimensions respectively). The solutions of these equations are given with explicit integral representations, using the data, and the corresponding integrals are studied in detail.
