How do they perceive the role of scientist pre-school children
This thesis deals with the perceptions of preschool children about the role of the scientist. Specifically, the Draw-a-scientist Test (see appendix) was used as a tool and pre- and nursery children were asked to design a scientist during his / her work. The analysis method used was data quality analysis and semiotics. From the analysis of the results it was observed that the children connected the scientist with a) technology, b) with the environment, c) with chemistry and biology, d) with their own daily life, and e) with fictional elements.
It has also been observed that the children of this age, due to self- centeredness, which is a basic of this age, were significantly identified with the designs they chose to draw. For preschool children, the scientist must have a specialized knowledge of the interpretation and evolution of the world.
