Non - Commutative Cryptography over Groups
Summary:
In this thesis, we study the subject of non-commutative cryptography over groups and our interest is mainly focused on key-exchanging and identification protocols.
In chapter one, we introduce basic elements concerning group theory, such as free groups and group presentations, as well as the most common problems of the subject which are a direct link between group theory and cryptography.
In chapter two, we study some of the most well known key-exchanging and identification protocols. This study includes not only the algorithmic side of the aforementioned subjects, but also the side that concerns security.
In chapter three, we present families of groups that can be used as platforms for various protocols and we also analyse their specific characteristics.
In chapter four, which is the most important part of this thesis, we make an in-depth study of the Shpilrain-Zapata protocol.
