Summary:
The SAT (System Approach to Training) Manual has been developed for use as an extension of the Marine Corps Training Education Orders, series 1553. The guide is designed for use in conjunction with Department of Defense theory and programs (MIL-STD-1379D) and is the primary source of information for developing and implementing training programs for Marine Corps schools, and other military training programs. . The purpose of the training material is defined in the management of the analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of training programs, through five phases, which are presented in the training guide. These phases are interrelated and complementary, constituting a dynamic and flexible educational program.
This paper is a brief overview of the SAT. It consists of six chapters, five of which refer to the parts of the guide and each describes a phase of SA training, analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. The sixth chapter deals with adult education.
