Digital Storytelling: Creating a didactic scenario for approaches to mathematical concepts through cultural representations
Summary:
This thesis is a creative proposal for approaching abstract mathematical concepts such as number, space and geometry, through cultural representations. Starting from the digital archieve streetmathematics that brings together a variety of cultural representations of mathematics, their production and their relationship to people, we create a digital narration. The present paper aims to focus on the analysis of students' 'readings' of the digital material, the echoes it produces, and the emergence of digital narrative teaching materials as part of mathematics education. This proposal is epistemologically based on the Sociology of Scientific Knowledge (SSK), approaches mathematical concepts as generative devices as De Freitas and Sinclair have studied, and is developed through the Vergnaud's Theory of conceptual fields. At the end there are texts of students in which they develop their thinking as an echo.
